NTC is modernizing its 22 mills from funds generated through sale of assets.  
 
Modernization has been completed in the following 18 Mills with installation of new hi-tech machines.

12. Burhanpur Tapti Mills
13. Vijaya Mohini Mills
14. Tata Mills
15. Arati Mills
16. Cannanore Spg & Wvg Mills, Mahe
17. Sri Rangavilas Mills

18. Cannanore Spg. & Wvg. Mills, Cannanore

Following machinery have been installed in above 18 mills.

i) Spinning Preparatory: -
      a) Blow Room, Cards, Single Delivery Draw Frames of Trumac manufactured in collaboration with Trutzschler, Germany.
      b) Other Spinning Preparatory Machinery :- Lap Former, Combers of Lakshmi Machine Works(LMW), Coimbatore

ii) Spinning Machinery:- 
      a) Speed Frame and Ring Frames of CTMTC, China, a Govt. of China Enterprise in 11 mills.
      b) Ring Frames of Shanghai Erfrangi, China, in 4 mills.
      c) Speed Frame and Ring Frames of Lakshmi Machine Works, Coimbatore in  1 mill.

iii) Post Spinning Machinery:-
      a) Cone Winding from Kinariwala RJK Industries, Ahmedabad
      b) Assembly Winding from W.H. Brady, Ahmedabad
      c) Auto Coners and Two for One Twister(TFO) of Veejay Lakshmi Engg. Works, Coimbatore

iv) Weaving Preparatory:-  Direct Warping, Sectional Warping and HS Sizing of Karl Mayer, Germany in 2 mills
v) Projectile Shuttle-less Looms:- of Sulzer, Switzerland in Tata Mills.
vi) Testing Equipments: - Yarn Evenness Tester of Patwa Kinariwala, Vadodra.  Other testing equipments of MAG, Coimbatore

19 to 22. 4 Mills as green field mills by relocation
 
Out of 4 mills, 2 mills namely New Minerva Mills at Hassan (Karnataka), and Finlay Mills at Achalpur (Maharashtra) are being set up as Textile Composite mills with spinning, weaving and processing activities and 1 mill namely Rajnagar Mills at Ahmedabad (Gujarat) with spinning and weaving activities.
 
4th mill i.e. Udaipur Cotton Mills at Beawar (Rajasthan) would be set up as Technical Textile unit (Geo-Textile etc). 
  
Technopak Advisors Pvt. Limited, and Gherzi Eastern Ltd. have been appointed as Consultants for the above projects.

19.Finlay Mills, Achalpur :- 

The Hon’ble President of India has laid the foundation stone of this mill.

Civil work in Spinning Shed has been completed and Weaving Shed is completed 80%.

90% Utilities work in Spinning Department is completed and Weaving Section is completed by 30%.
 
Total Spinning Preparatory machinery has been installed.  6 out of 36 Ring Frames and 4 out of 11 Auto coners have been installed.

All Weaving Preparatory and Looms reached the mills and would be taken up by erection.

Spinning would be completed by June 2010 and  Weaving by September, 2010.

20.New Minerva Mills, Hassan –

Civil work in respect of spinning  shed has been completed and weaving shed is completed by 90%. Other related  works of humidification, electrification, fire fighting system etc are also going simultaneously.

Most of spinning machines (blow-room, cards, lap former with combers, speed frames and 6 out of 18 ring frames ordered) has reached the mills.

Spinning preparatory machinery has been installed except 18 Compact Ring Frames.

Weaving : All Weaving Preparatory and looms reached the mills and taken up for erection.

Spinning would be completed by June 2010 and Weaving by September,2010.

21.Rajnagar Mills, Ahmedabad –

58% Civil work  has been completed and rest to be completed by June 2010.

Spinning machines - 2 Blowroom lines, 8 cards, 4 Draw Frames, 3 Speed Frames out of 9, 4 Ring Frames out of 30 have arrived in the mills and taken up for erection. 

Weaving preparatory e.g. Sizing Machine and Warping Machine and all 72 looms have reached the mills. 

spinning would be completed by September 2010 and weaving by October 2010.

22.Udaipur Cotton Mills, Beawer – has been proposed to be set up as Technical Textile unit to produce geo-textiles (Non-Woven & Woven)

NOTE: -

Now it is proposed to modernize ‘2’ more mills i.e. Coimbatore Spg. & Wvg. Mills, Coimbatore and Tirupathi Cotton Mills, Renigunta (taken out from JV List because of their better working performance) by NTC itself and to set up a Technical Textile unit at Coimbatore to manufacture Meditech Textiles.
